For there is no night without dawning

This post is a few days old by now, but I think I'm going to post it anyway.  I had this one written when all of a sudden my blogger platform went kabluey (and when I went to look up if kabluey is a word, and if so, how to spell it, I discovered there is a movie by that name about a family ready to self-destruct, so even if it isn't an actual word, I think it fits and you get the drift...)

I had no idea I would hit such a nerve the other day when I wrote about my "Keep Calm and Carry On" sign in my cubicle at work!  I am glad so many people enjoyed the post, but it makes me a little sad to know that so many of us are carrying such loads of stress and worry right now.  I asked a few of my work colleagues what sayings they use to help get them through the rough times, and here are their responses.  If "Keep Calm" doesn't work for you, perhaps one of these signs will help you get through the day.

I've always liked this saying because I remember giving this poster to my parents when they were under a tight deadline flipping a house.  Yes, they were trendy "flippers" before the phrase was even in use!  They bought worn out houses and brought them back to life and we were all so proud of their work.  I brought this poster home from college and I can still see it hanging on a piece of drywall.

I had this quote on my work bulletin board for years...

Of course, Maxine had a few words of wisdom to share as well!

And yes, Mother, just for you, here is"your" phrase.  I must admit, the phrase is so true, but it sure does set my teeth on edge at times!

And to accompany the phrase, here is Helen Steiner Rice's poemI give up on trying to position it in the middle of the page, and I guess I'll just be grateful that I am able to blog again, even if the formatting is still shaky!  Have a wonderful Tuesday, my friends!
This Too Shall Pass

If I can endure for this minute
Whatever is happening to me,
No matter how heavy my heart is
Or how dark the moment may be-

If I can remain calm and quiet
With all the world crashing about me,
Secure in the knowledge God loves me
When everyone else seems to doubt me-

If I can but keep on believing
What I know in my heart to be true,
That darkness will fade with the morning
And that this will pass away, too-

Then nothing in life can defeat me
For as long as this knowledge remains
I can suffer whatever is happening
For I know God will break all of the chains

That are binding me tight in the darkness
And trying to fill me with fear-
For there is no night without dawning
And I know that my morning is near.
