Garden

When we moved into our home several years ago, the backyard was a blank slate.  The husband and wife who had owned the home before us were both legally blind, and landscaping was not one of their interests.  The upside to that was we had a blank slate to work with.  The downside to that was...we had a blank slate to work with!  No established gardens, no shrubs, no trees.  Fortunately the neighbors all have beautiful large trees so we had lovely views of them from our back deck.  In a moment of inspired insanity I had my husband dig up the entire area in our backyard from the edge of our deck to the end of the house...about 12' deep and 30' wide.  On reflection, more space than I really had business trying to turn into a garden, but it's been a work in progress and I love how it is (slowly) coming together.
